On a chilly morning in May we met with some new friends at The Ivy Place to pick strawberries.
This beautiful patch is my favorite because of the strong nostalgia it brings of Ohio summers in my childhood when we would pack a picnic lunch and head out first thing to pick bucketfuls of red, ripe berries. It is only a strawberry patch (and other berries), without the comotion of activities many other places offer. I love that simplicity.
Every single person we have met at the Ivy Place has been so sweet. They always encourage my kids to eat as many berries as they can, right from the vines, and refuse to let me pay extra (my kids can shovel their own weight in berries into their mouths).
