Down to the River to Play

In August my boys and I made the long trip from South Carolina to Michigan to visit my family, making a pit stop in Ohio there and back. On our way home we stayed for a couple of nights with my friend Chloe and her crew, Oliver (4), Hugo (nearly 3), and Phoebe (weeks away from her first birthday). While Chloe and I bonded over life with two small boys, (and in her case a darling baby girl), our boys romped and explored and wrestled. Chloe’s sister, and my dear friend, Ruby, also joined us, and our time was filled with laughter, thoughtful conversation, good food, including a custom-made dump truck cake, driven by everyone’s favorite Minions.

I pulled my camera out for our trip down to the chilly river, which was almost like stepping into a patch of paradise, it was all so serene and beautiful. I am thankful for these memories, and these friends, even if they live states away. :)
